Winter 2017 First Impressions Round-up

I need that shirt.

I expected a troubled start for the season because of work, and then my schedule got further complicated by my first attempts at C-41 processing which has taken up a lot of my spare time recently. In the meantime, the season has reached the point at which the shows have more or less proven themselves or died trying. My watchlist went through a lot of changes from the original partly due to my slightly increased watching habits in despite the frantic film processing. And also some figurine stuff.

First Impressions on Akiba’s Trip – Electric Burlesque

I guess it’s about time to cover this one. I’ve seen the game on Steam sales a couple of times and admittedly was tempted to give it a try, but fortunately Neptunia and Senran Kagura are already occupying my gaming timeslot for kusoge with hot chicks. Anyway, I thought I’d at least check the anime out, and surprisingly the first episode was actually decent. It didn’t try to take itself seriously and the action was unexpectedly slick. Was GONZO about to, dare I say, deliver a solid show for the first time since antiquity?

First Impressions on Seiren – The Winter Offensive

BAST GURL

The first episode was pretty slow, but the second one’s where the ride got started. Shouichi’s defence is piss weak even for Amagami protagonist standards, and this is not to mention his neutron star level density. Overall this appears to be one of those shows where the main girl has more balls than the protagonist. She’s certainly on full offense.
