You know, I had gradually stopped thinking that people still bother spewing out the usual “this season is the weakest ever“-bullshit. But then I ran into some jackass on IRC who did just that. “Look at the previous 3 seasons, weakest shit ever“. Dude, I’m sorry to break this for you but the previous three seasons were exactly the same shit as the three before it. But I guess people have the long term memory of a donkey. As I previously posted, K-ON!! ended up getting dropped off my schedule due to being simply too dull to watch anymore. I also dropped Senkou no Night Raid, mainly for the reason that subs just took way too long to come out and by the time they did, I already had others to replace it. Not to mention that I heard more than enough criticism of the show that made me feel quite reluctant to give it a go. Now let’s move up the ladder and see what’s left hanging around in the low tier. Well, there’s actually only one show and I think you already know what I’m talking about. Yes, it’s Angel Beats!.

Some people said the show would get better starting from the second episode. I took this mostly as a fan’s apologetic excuse to cover for the obviously weaksauce first episode. The character animation was anything but great and it managed to present the show as something equivalent to a 14 year-old JRPG-fan’s fanfic that combines his favorite things from half of the post-VI FF’s, Naruto, Bleach and god damn Twilight. But did it get better in the second episode? Yes, it kinda did.
