I know this is quite late, but you know jetlag and the like…well okay, I’ve just been busy grinding Disgaea 4 like a mofo. The miko army isn’t going to build itself, what you gonna do? Anyway, this concludes my SEA trip. Long post is long, skip to the end for the closing impressions.

Nova’s SEA Trip Season 3 – The Prelude
There’s a reason why they have all those signs warning about unattended baggage.
And so comes that time of the year again. I’m currently making frantic last minute preparations for my SEA trip, and I’ll be taking a bus down to Helsinki-Vantaa airport early tomorrow morning. Since people keep asking me about my schedule and I’m getting tired of spamming it, I’ll just post it down here. I’m yet unsure whether I will attend the AFA’s segment on Friday as it would appear that there’s only the Vocaloid concert lined up, but I’ll be there for the main part of the event in any case. Come and say hi to the white guy, you’ll probably know me when you see me. Naturally I will do my best to cover the event and the rest of the journey here on my blog. However, this time I am also working for the print media – readers of the Finnish Anime-magazine can look forward to an interesting article.

Extra PSA – Going to SEA Again
Since I’ve already trumpeted about it in social media that I loathe so much, I might as well make a post up here as well. Unless something goes wrong before November, I’m going on a trip down to Singapore and Malaysia once more. I have not decided on the exact date yet, but I will be attending Anime Festival Asia ’11 that has been announced for 11.-13.11. I’ll also try to spend a few more days in Malaysia this time, and in exchange drop the prospect of visiting Hong Kong altogether since nobody I know seems to be in town at the time.

The End of Summer, The Beginning of Blogging
After another couple weeks of silence, I have returned to bother you all. Toiling on a demanding job since June, I spent much of my time in a menial existence that is the working man’s scarce free time. This mostly being internets spaceships…

The Disappearance of Suzumiya Haruhi Movie Impressions

No, I didn’t waste the experience by watching a disgusting camrip and I look down upon those who did. Hope you enjoyed watching a filthy piece of post stamp they call a camrip presentation of a good movie. Anyway, I first intended to check the movie at AFAX on my trip to Singapore but I missed most of it due to being occupied elsewhere. Thankfully my Singaporean buddies arranged me tickets to a screening at a cinema on the following week when I returned from Malaysia, and so I got to see the movie properly before the BD/DVD releases. As a blogger this was of course an excellent opportunity to write something about it while most of my colleagues are still waiting for the BD rips.

SEA Trip Part III – Wrapping It Up
I have finally reached my apartment back home in Finland and had a good night’s rest, so I’d better get to writing this while I still remember everything that happened. Homecoming was quite nice as this time the weather was cold and there is a decent amount of snow around, instead of the disgusting and depressing rain and sleet that welcomed me home last year. But before the travelogue let me go through some sentiments this whole trip has brought up.

SEA Trip Part II: Chargin’ Malaysia
With AFAX dealt with, it was time to head over to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for a meet up with Kurogane. I had some hours to burn before the flight so I took my time to seek out Black Tactical, a Singaporean tactical gear store that also had a booth at AFA. Originally I intended to buy a green laser sight that was being sold for about 140 bucks but the clerk warned me as I was on my way to Malaysia with only hand luggage, as the customs officials could just take it for themselves for a random reason. No idea how true this statement was but I decided to be cautious and I had a feeling that I might find a better deal of the same sight over in Malaysia anyway. However I found some other interesting stuff such as sunglass-size metal net goggles, which should come in handy since due to sweating a lot normal plastic lens goggles tend to fog on me in minutes.

SEA Trip Part I: Anime Festival Asia X

The first and likely the most intensive part of my journey has concluded, and so it’s now my obligation to do something in exchange for the media pass. As you may know, I missed quite a bit of the event due to difficult flight scheduling – I arrived on the Saturday afternoon while the whole show was already well under way, but I had calculated that I’d still barely make it to Hanazawa Kana’s performance. But alas, my cheapo flight from Hong Kong was delayed so that when I finally got over to Suntec it was all over already. Shitsux but beggars can’t be choosers I guess.
