I guess it’s about time for some sort of summary post now that the season is close to done. All in all this season has been a great improvement to its predecessor, which isn’t saying very much but anyway. At the very least there has been a good selection of successful comedy around this time if nothing else. That all said, not very many shows survived on my schedule.

Not only did Yosuga no Sora treat us to one of the most badass moments in the history of eroge adaptations but it also sparked some amusing bitching around the tubes about how Nao is such a nasty slut. I sensed a lot of butthurt nerd attitude in all this and set out to find out whether or not this claim can be justified.

Going a bit NSFW here, be advised. Man, feel either has grown themselves a pair of elephant-size brass balls or they’re just going nuts. In either case, Yosuga on Sora sure is going alpha. Like School Days, but in a somewhat different and a lot messier fashion. Hell, we’re one episode into Akira’s route and there’s already one sex scene – off screen of course (given the QUALITY of the intercourse between Haru and Kazuha I can’t say that’s a bad thing), but with a decent warm-up scene. I’m surprised that people are not yet crying foul play over Haru being such a stud that he is, but I suppose his character has been carefully calculated to be both alpha and appealing enough to nerds to keep their jealous RAGE at bay.

I guess it’s time to stop being lazy and finally crank this one out. All in all this looks like a much better season than the previous one. One might point out that it’s not really much of an accomplishment as the previous season was admittedly rather weak, but just saying.

Now that the first Tutu post is over and done with, I suppose it’s about time to take the first look at the next season. Admittedly this Summer season was rather weak in comparison to last year, or at least lacked decent shows within my sphere of interest. I’ve heard positive things about Shiki and Occult Academy but I have little interest in the supernatural/horror genre. Anyway the summer is pretty much over, the weather has turned cold, dark and rainy, and having concluded my work contract at the packaging plant, I’m once more unemployed and ready for some heavier stuff. So, let’s see what’s coming up this Fall.
